What are Administrative Complaints?

An administrative complaint is a legal action we take to make systemic change across the state. We can submit complaints against organizations, school districts, and more if we find evidence of disability discrimination. These complaints bring awareness and action to disability related issues and protect people with disabilities on a large scale. We filed a state complaint on behalf of students with disabilities who attend school in the Flagler County School District. The district was violating students’ rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) by inappropriately placing students with disabilities on home instruction and not implementing IEP services.

The district was violating students’ rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for those who attend the school district's alternative-education program, the CARE Discipline Program.
