Jeffrey P. Brosco

Jeffrey P. Brosco MD. PhD. is a doctor and educator of general pediatrics and developmental pediatrics, with a focus on autism and related disorders. He served as chief resident after training in pediatrics at the University of Miami (UM)/Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a researcher, Dr. Brosco analyzed the history of health care for children in early 20th century America, the historical epidemiology of intellectual disability, and the history of newborn screening in the US. In addition to his practice and research, he has served on many state and national policy groups and task forces to advocate for youth disability populations. He serves as Chair of the Pediatric Bioethics Committee at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Associate Director of the Mailman Center for Child Development, UM Director for Population Health Ethics, and UM Associate Chair for Population Health. He continues his advocacy and expertise now as he serves in the Department of Health as Florida’s Title V Director for Children with Special Health Care Needs Program.
