Richard is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Counseling Education at the University of South Florida in Tampa. His research focuses on topics such as mental health, developmental disabilities, the promotion of alternatives to guardianship, and the measurement of self-advocacy and self-determination for individuals with disabilities. Richard is also heavily involved with the disability rights movement in the state of Florida. He is actively involved in research such as the measurement of self-advocacy and self-determination, guardianship and alternatives to guardianship for individuals with disabilities, and mental health services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He currently lives with his family in Tampa, Florida.
