Virginia Daire

Certified as a family mediator, Virginia Daire is the oldest of six children, two of whom had developmental disabilities. She and her family have been advocates for people with disabilities since 1952. An attorney since 1978, Virginia once served as General Counsel of the Florida Association for Retarded Citizens along with serving on several Florida Supreme Court Commissions focusing on issues relevant to people affected with disabilities. In 1987, she authored a publication entitled "Preparing for the Future of Your Florida Family Member Who Is Developmentally Disabled". At several points in her career, Virginia also directed The Florida Supreme Court's Gender Bias Study Commission and acted as Agency Clerk for both the Florida Department of Children and Family Services and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. Formerly she was president of both Tallahassee Women Lawyers and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
