Season Four Trailer

Thursday, October 22, 2026

Season Four of Disability Deep Dive premieres on November 5th, and here's a preview of what's coming:

  • We catch up with Patrice Jetter and Garry Wickham from "Patrice: The Movie" to talk about their love story, the rules affecting their independence, and what they've been up to since the film.
  • Deaf pilot and aspiring astronaut Sheila Xu takes us behind the scenes of the effort to make space travel accessible to everyone.
  • And with author Keah Brown, filmmaker Julie Wyman, and documentary director Ted Passon, we explore the responsibility of telling disability stories, whether you're sharing your own experiences or helping tell someone else's.

Plus, we're introducing something brand new: The Reef! Short, five- to 10-minute interviews focused on one guest and one big question. We created it to make room for more voices, fresh ideas, and stories that deserve attention now, rather than waiting for another season.

Follow Disability Deep Dive wherever you get your podcasts so you don't miss an episode. Or join us on YouTube to watch the conversations unfold. We've got a lot to explore together, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Episode Transcript

JODI BECKSTINE:

Hey Keith, what do love, space travel, and filmmaking have in common?

KEITH CASEBONNE:

I have a feeling you're about to tell me.

JODI BECKSTINE:

We're talking about all three and more on season four of Disability Deep Dive!

KEITH CASEBONNE:

Oh – well, I should've known there was a podcast plug coming.

JODI BECKSTINE:

And yet, you keep coming back.

KEITH CASEBONNE:

I do. I'm Keith.

JODI BECKSTINE:

And I'm Jodi. Welcome to Disability Deep Dive, where we sit down with fascinating people who challenge expectations and bring fresh perspectives to conversations about disability.

KEITH CASEBONNE:

We catch up with Patrice Jetter and Garry Wickham from “Patrice: The Movie” to talk about their love story, the rules affecting their independence, and what they've been up to since the film.

PATRICE JETTER:

If you spend your life doing positive things, you won’t have time to get caught up in negative things.

JODI BECKSTINE:

Deaf pilot and aspiring astronaut Sheila Xu takes us behind the scenes of the effort to make space travel accessible to everyone.

SHEILA XU:

If you are deaf or disabled, we want you to join in the space industry. We need you!

KEITH CASEBONNE:

And with author Keah Brown, filmmaker Julie Wyman, and documentary director Ted Passon, we explore the responsibility of telling disability stories, whether you're sharing your own experiences or helping tell someone else's.

KEAH BROWN:

I’m sort of coming to everything that I create with the knowledge and understanding that it’s not about what we lost, it’s about who we are, what we have, and why it’s worthwhile.

TED PASSON:

You know, it’s been like, hey, the biggest trope that non-disabled people like get into, time and time again, is making the disability the obstacle and not the accessibility.

JODI BECKSTINE:

That's just a glimpse of what's coming! We've got eight full-length episodes this season, featuring even more incredible guests, unexpected stories, and conversations you won't want to miss.

KEITH CASEBONNE:

And there's so much more to explore beyond the interviews themselves.

JODI BECKSTINE:

That's where our Deep Cut segment comes in! We're pairing our conversations with books and films worth exploring. This season, we're diving into “Being Heumann,” “The Tallest Dwarf,” and “The Adventures of Superfreak.”

KEITH CASEBONNE:

Plus, we're introducing something brand new: The Reef! Short, five- to ten-minute interviews focused on one guest and one big question. We created it to make room for more voices, fresh ideas, and stories that deserve attention now, rather than waiting for another season.

JODI BECKSTINE:

From love and independence to space travel and the stories we tell, this season explores what happens when we look at the world through the lens of disability. We're asking big questions, challenging assumptions, and having some pretty incredible conversations along the way.

KEITH CASEBONNE:

And we want you to be part of them! Season four premieres November fifth. Follow Disability Deep Dive wherever you get your podcasts so you don't miss an episode.

JODI BECKSTINE:
