At Disability Rights Florida, our social media platforms are a place to connect, learn, and advocate together. We appreciate your comments, shares, and support. Every voice matters here.

We welcome different viewpoints and real conversations. But we ask everyone to follow our Social Media Community Policy and treat each other with respect.

We reserve the right to hide or delete comments that break our community guidelines—and take other steps if needed. This includes warning users, muting accounts, or reporting serious violations. Let’s keep this space safe, respectful, and focused on what matters most: protecting the rights and dignity of people with disabilities.

Important Note on Disability Representation

We’ve seen comments suggesting that no one at Disability Rights Florida is disabled. That is not only false—it is also harmful. These assumptions erase the lived experiences of our staff who are disabled, as well as staff who are caregivers for loved ones with disabilities.

Disability isn’t always visible, and identity should never be assumed. Our team includes people with many lived experiences, and we are proud of that. Please be thoughtful and kind when speaking about who belongs in this work. We all do.

Social Media Community Guidelines

By participating on our social media platforms, you agree to:

  • ✔️ Be kind
  • ✔️ Stay on-topic and constructive
  • ✔️ No hate speech, harassment, or personal attacks
  • ✔️ Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or threatening language
  • ✔️ Refrain from misinformation, spam, or off-topic content

We also do not allow:

  • Comments that question whether our team members are disabled or qualified to speak on disability issues
  • Ableist language or slurs
  • Repeated posting of the same comment or link (spamming)
  • Promotion of services, products, or fundraising unless explicitly authorized by Disability Rights Florida
